Deadpan Drive

Deadpan Drive is a driving game with nowhere to be. A 25 km² island, 22 km of coastline, and no quest waiting for you. Get in the car, pick a direction, and drive. What happens on the way is up to you.

The car tops out at 60 km/h and has no speedometer. That isn't an oversight, it's the whole game. With no counter, no timer and nothing to collect, what's left is the road, the sea breaking differently along each stretch of shore, and the light going soft as the afternoon runs out.

Your company is Pop Therapy FM, 101.7, hosted by DJ Aura. She plays seven tracks and talks about routine, other people's opinions, loneliness, and the fine art of romanticizing your life while carefully leaving out the bills. Two hours of advice nobody asked for, delivered with the gravity of a weather report. You will laugh alone in a car. That's the plan.

The ocean has its own state at every point of the coast: shallow ground makes the wave swell, a deep wall makes it slam. None of this shows up as a number on screen. It shows up in the water.

There's asphalt, there's dirt road, there's a lookout that wasn't on the map. Drive until dark or until you've had enough, whichever comes first. Nobody is keeping score.
